// who we are
We are five
friends minus one.
In 2021 a friend of ours didn't make it home from work on the Kampala–Entebbe expressway. He was wearing his belt. The other driver was going 95 km/h in the rain. We decided grief should become infrastructure — or we were going to keep counting friends.
// what we stand for
Zero harm is a habit, not a hashtag.
We do three things and we do them well: we make the boring things that save lives cool, we reward safe riders instead of only punishing reckless ones, and we hand real evidence to the district engineers who fix the roads.
Uganda's roads cost an estimated 5% of GDP every year. Behind every figure is a mother, a classmate, a team that waits for someone who doesn't come home.
"We're not a campaign. A campaign has an end. This is a habit."
- 01
We celebrate the safe ones. Our leaderboard hands out helmets, fuel and school gear to stages, fleets and clubs that go weeks without a crash. Works better than fines.
- 02
We hand data to engineers. You pin a blackspot, we bundle 50+ reports and walk the junction with the district. 96 fixes so far — humps, crossings, signs.
- 03
We train bystanders, not just officials. Bystanders arrive before ambulances. Always. Monthly free drills in stages and schools.
// the road so far
Five years, told by stickers.
Founded
forty riders signed the first pledge at Wandegeya stage. we cried a little.
1,000 helmets
first batch of certified helmets hit the stages. we learned what a fake one looks like.
live map
the blackspot map went up. 214 reports the first week. we had to hire a volunteer to read them.
38,412 pledges
210 trained first responders. 96 schools. one very tired nurse who still says yes.
// the crew
The people who actually run this thing.
forty-seven more volunteers, six stage chairs, and a cat called Turbo who sleeps on the printer. we're fine.
