general
What is Arrive Alive?
A citizen road-safety movement: we track blackspots, train bystanders for the golden ten minutes, and turn reports into fixed roads. Community data + police/WHO/UNIPH figures, one honest picture.
Is it free?
Free forever, no ads, no data selling. Funded by grants, helmet sponsorships and one very persuasive treasurer.
Who runs it?
Citizens, not government — a nurse, riders, a teacher, a data guy, a traffic officer on secondment. We work with the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety; we are not it.
reporting
How do I report an incident?
Web form (five steps), WhatsApp +256 700 000 000, SMS ALIVE to 8555, or USSD *855#. Be safe first; the map can wait thirty seconds.
Can I report anonymously?
Yes. Contact details are optional — they only help verification and let us tell you when your pin becomes a fix.
How fast is verification?
About 15 minutes in business hours, up to 2 hours at night. Critical incidents jump the queue, always.
What if I file a false report?
Serious offense — it delays real responders. Accounts suspended, and where appropriate, reported to law enforcement. We say this kindly and mean it completely.
accounts & privacy
Do I need an account?
No for browsing and reporting. Yes for tracking reports, points, pledges and the leaderboard.
How do I reset my password?
Sign in → forgot → SMS code. Resets go by phone because everyone has a phone; not everyone has email.
What data do you keep?
Only what the service needs. We never sell it. Full detail in the privacy policy.
Can I delete my account?
SMS DELETE to 8555 or email privacy@landrovermisssionteam.com. Gone within 30 days; your reports stay, anonymised, as public record.
verification
How do you verify reports?
A human moderator reviews every pin, cross-references police/hospital data where available, checks photos and nearby reports. 78.8% make it to the map; the rest get a kind rejection note.
What if a published report is wrong?
Contact us with the report ID (AA-2026-xxxx). We investigate, update or remove — corrections are published, not whispered.
emergencies
Are you an emergency service?
No. Life-threatening? Call 999 / 112 first, always. We are awareness and information, not response.
Uganda's emergency numbers?
Police/ambulance 999 (112 mobile) · Fire 998 · Toll-free 0800 199 399 · Kampala central 0800 122 291.
community
How do points and badges work?
Pledge +50 · training +200 · safe month +300 · accepted report +40. Groups climb the leaderboard; prizes are helmets, fuel cards and school gear.
What are the community rules?
Accuracy over speed, respect for all, safety first — the full rulebook lives in the community guidelines.
